for proactive parents to support their teens goals without trying to control them using artistic personality aligned competence building strategies.
You are already an
INCREDIBLE PARENT
even if the teen years have been
confusing or frustrating.
Like you I am an invested, determined and supportive parent.
Yet it wasn’t until I
CHANGED HOW I WAS COMMUNICATING
with my teens’ that effectively supporting their goals started to fall into place.
Before I figured it out, I'd try to offer advice to manage all the twists and turns of managing life in the creative arts and was usually met with
Once I unlocked the key on how to listen and guide them in a way that
resonated with their artistic, creative minds not only did they appreciate my support in a different way -

Using artistic personality aligned confidence building strategies
MY SON ACHIEVED A DREAM THAT WAS
EVEN BIGGER
THAN THE ONE HE’D SET OUT TO CONQUER
As the announcement rang out, shock and disbelief appeared on his face.
He had just been named MVP Guitarist at our region's largest contemporary battle of the bands. And watching him as it sunk in, “yes, that was my name”, brought tears to my eyes.
He’d worked so hard to get here.
The relief, and pride and joy I felt seeing him in this moment - it was all I had hoped for as a mom.
Finding the confidence to keep going. To keep pushing. To bounce back after making choices that had slowed his progress.
It took time, and quite a few missteps on both his and my part to help him get back on track.
Eventually, through trial and error, experience, clinical training and a lot of research, I realized that
I had to shift what I was doing to meet the unique needs of a artistic personality to support him fully. . That if my strategies weren’t aligned with how his creative mind worked they simply weren't effective.
I had to shift what I was doing to meet the unique needs of his artistic personality and fully support him achieving his goals.
That if my strategies weren’t aligned with how his creative mind worked they simply weren't effective.
Once I understood this critical piece and began to combine what I know through the lens of how his brain functioned, boom. Success.
Without begging him to believe in himself as much as I did.
Without nagging him to practice.
Without watching lecturing him on the importance of maintaining perseverance.
Since then, I’ve been able to use what I’ve learned to provide these same artisitic personality alinghted strategies to parents to introduce your teen to the

that accelerate achievement.

FAQ
WHAT IF MY TEEN NEVER LISTENS TO MY ADVICE?
Ha! BTDT. But here’s why this works - using the concepts behind these strategies means you are not trying to sneak advice in on a drive to school. Once you have a fundamental understanding of what is driving certain behaviors, it changes the framework of how you approach your interactions with
your teen.
The when and how, as well as what situations you address shifts.
Once you understand how your teen thinks about things and what motivates change, there is no need to offer general advice and hope it lands. You will be able to understand their unique creative minded needs and engage with them in a constructive matter to move the needle.
WHAT IF I CAN’T EVEN GET MY TEEN TO SET ANY GOALS?
This program will help you understand why this is - and more importantly you will be able to help them understand why this is. Working with teens in the arts has taught me that failure to set goals has nothing to do with interest level. In fact it’s often the inverse,
the more they care, the more likely they are to avoid setting tangible goals.
It can be incredibly frustrating for you as a parent to see this, but once you understand the why behind this behavior you can use the strategies to help them move out of this behavior and into a much more productive approach aligned with their goals.
MY KID ISN’T A TEEN…WILL TO APPLY
TO THEM?
Yes! I say “teens” because that’s less of a mouthful than “tweens, teens and young adults.” But
this is truly geared towards understanding, supporting and helping tweens, teens and young adults identify, set and achieve goals
both in and outside of their art.
For tweens it’s incredibly helpful to understand these principles and strategies as early as possible to set them up to avoid common pitfalls that hold them back. I especially enjoy feedback from young adults as they are often ready to jump in and crush the actionable steps leading to leaps in growth.
The information in this program is designed to provide lifelong strategies for achievement.
I’VE TRIED OTHER PARENTING RESOURCES AND THEY DIDN’T WORK FOR MY KID - HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT?
Well, if you are still reading this far in, you must have a teen in the creative or performing arts. This resource is specifically geared towards supporting teens who are creatively driven. It’s not general “teen development” information -
it’s all about your teen, who may have a complicated, but passionate relationship with their art of choice.
The ones who’s mood can be directly impacted by whether they had a good or bad day in their art. Or who are adamant that art is life, and life is complicated. Oh, and even though it’s geared towards artistic minds, many parents have told me they found it incredibly useful for understanding their other teens as well.
I’M A SMART, SUCCESSFUL PERSON. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO FIGURE THIS OUT ON MY OWN - WHY CAN’T I JUST LOOK UP SOME ADDITIONAL STRATEGIES ONLINE?
Sure, you could probably figure some of it out on your own. But it will take a lot of time, energy and effort. To put together the information I am providing in an organized flow pattern
would first require you to get a proficient base in child and adolescent development.
As a psychologist, I had an advanced knowledge set of these principles before I set out on a quest for better and more aligned answers for my teens. I then combined the clinical research, advanced qualitative interview techniques, and my work years of experience counseling teens and parents and put it all together.
I’M LOOKING FOR SOMETHING I CAN HAND MY TEEN THAT THEY CAN WATCH AND MOVE ON. WILL THAT WORK WITH THIS PROGRAM?
This resource is not for you if you prefer a more authoritarian or hands off parenting style. This program is for parents who prefer a nurturing, responsive and supportive parenting style.
If listening to and discussing challenges that your teen faces is a pillar of your parenting approach, then this program will be a great fit for you.
Artistic Achievement Accelerator is about empowering teens through aligned knowledge, allowing them to make proactive choices with interactive support from their parents.
